Redwood City Education Foundation invests in people and organizations working to provide a world-class public education for every student in the Redwood City School District. We rally our entire community to help bridge the gap between the resources our district has and the resources our children need to be successful in school. We convene leaders across the city to support our common goal: A great public education for every child in our community.

Racing Heart began fall of 2012 as a grassroots idea—our organizations goal is to increase the success rate of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) which has been unchanged since the 1960s at less than 10% but which can increase up to 80% with nearby life saving heart defibrillators.
Nearby AEDs is a simple solution to a huge medical problem because SCA can happen to anyone at anytime. To date, Racing Hearts has placed over 840 AEDs in the Bay Area, serving 1,700,000+ community members, developed a free crowdsourcing smartphone app to located and map community AEDs, and pioneered the recent success of CA Senate Bill SB658 which was signed by Governor Brown making CA one of the most progressive states in AED legislation relative to cost and liability. |
